Putting skateboards in the hands of Halifax youth!
We’re a small grassroots initiative with a simple goal: get skateboards into the hands of local kid youth by upcycling decommissioned parts and fundraising in the community. In six years, we achieved our goal and then some: 100+ Skateboards have been given out to youth in the Maritimes who needed a start at skateboarding!

2025 Fundraiser
Auction & Raffle
Finding the appropriate sized gear for young skateboarders-to-be is challenging, as we source the majority of our parts donations from adults. This means we acquire a pile of decks, trucks and cruisers that we can’t find a home for. This year, as part of our Spring Fundraiser, we’re going to auction off some of these skateboards and use 100% of the money raised to buy size-appropriate parts for kids.
Please, bid and buy with zero guilt about taking these parts home to use. The money raised will buy specific needed skateboard parts and completes to make a ton of kids happy this year.
there are TWO WAYS to support. A Raffle as well as a silent auction!
skateboarding should be accessible to all…
But not everyone can afford to start out with a brand new complete, and some people will have a difficult time starting with anything at all. For all the youth that are inspired to try skateboarding, we want to make sure those in need have an opportunity to take to the streets with confidence. By recycling used skateboarding parts in to “new” skateboards, we can provide young aspiring skateboarders with their first skateboard. Your first skateboard is a memorable one, and it can be a transformative thing.
The overall goal of ‘The Renew Skateboard Project’ is to provide youth that don’t have the means to acquire a skateboard with one, through a recycling program. Local skateboarders can donate their unused and spare parts to the community, and boards will be assembled with the best parts. These renewed skateboards will have a chance to bring the creativity and freedom of skateboarding to someone new. It will promote a more active lifestyle, a challenging hobby and a persistent mind.
The Renew Project is a non-profit. All the donated and assembled skateboards will be given for free to those in need. Financial donations can be made, and all donations will be 100% used to buy skateboard parts.

”Skateboarding was a big part of my life from my early teens onward. Every day of every summer would be spent skateboarding with friends. Rainy days would see tricks learned in my basement. Winter months would push me in to a tiny garage. But it was always about skateboarding. I never did it with the goal of becoming something special in the sport, but instead for the continued pursuit of progression and happiness that skateboarding brings. The ride of learning something new and applying it in the wild, or finding a new creative way to express myself.
Now, older, I find myself coming back to skateboarding with a fond sense of nostalgia. It seems like an extremely important activity — one that helped me through my youth and kept me continuously active. After putting together a Frankenstein’d skateboard from old cannibalized parts I realized that everyone who skates probably has some older gear lying around. What if we could pool those resources together and give it to the next generation, and help them on the same path?I’m starting small, and hopefully this project can impact even just a handful of young lives.”
